A Few Words

About Me

Lindsay Martin

Owner & Lead Bookkeeper

I get it, numbers can be intimidating. And they are likely not the reason you started your business.

For 8 years, I worked as the primary fundraiser for a non-profit whose mission was to educate & train peacebuilders from around the world. Definitely an extremely noble mission. One thing I learned during that time? Even with a great mission, it is still vital that you have a solid sense of the numbers and a sustainable business model.

I believe that every person who starts a small business has an important mission as well. You wouldn’t have started your business if you didn’t believe it would help people. AND – every business owner needs to know & understand their numbers if they want to survive. That’s where I come in! I can help distill the important numbers (what you actually need to know and track) and help you create systems that keep you organized and give you confidence that your business will not only last, but THRIVE. That’s my purpose with Milepost Bookkeeping. I can’t wait to get started helping you!

A bit more about me

I’m a mom to two wonderful young kids, a partner to a guy who spends his time caring for the soil and animals on our six acre farm in the lovely Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and a small business owner (in addition to Milepost Bookkeeping, I manage a short term vacation rental on our farm). I also love cooking, puzzles, hiking and binge-watching baking shows.
